The Tyrfung Saga - by Pedro G. Johnson
"Deemed it of ill fate to strive forth with aim;
bestow death unto one legion of the same banner,
the youth had the agéd waft of Tyrfung made to his spear, of yore renownéd, what was once a kith alliance shared.
Hemmed like a bird in blue, high flying falcon; cruel billed,
that bold shriek of war."
It is 500 AD. In a new age of migration and revolt the young Ólaf is on the brink of manhood when a mysterious maiden falls under his protection. With his homeland plagued by a new god and steadily shifting powers, everyone is the enemy. Learning love and loss, Ólaf must heed to the command of a shrinking throne.
Pedro G. Johnson's modern epic The Tyrfung Saga, is the unprecedented legend that begins after the abrupt end of Beowulf and King Arthur, interpreting the ancient accounts in this poetic saga of war, justice, and selfless heroism.
